Please follow the guidlines below when sending pictures to be displayed on the message board:
  • If you are unsure how to prepare your images and photos please read our Contributing to this Site page.
  • Refer to your scanner instructions and study how to crop the images so that your scan is just of the photo and not the whole of your scanner plate. This will save you loads of time and money because you have a much smaller image file to send.
  • Always take a look at the images you have scanned before you send them. We have lost count of the grey blobs or blank images files we have been sent. Also please make sure they are not so small that the subject is unrecognisable.
  • Please contact Arthur before submitting photos and articles copied from magazines and newspapers. These usually require different scanning methods to get a good result and copyright issues will also need to be considered.
  • Name your images so that they can be readily identified, rather than just referring to the subject matter or people in the photo. This avoids confusion on this end.
Due to the limited spare time we have available we do not acknowledge messages with photos for the GNR. If you need confirmation set your own email program to confirm delivery.

There are always people waiting for images to be displayed so please be patient. Occasionally we may use our discretion if the immediate posting of an image ahead of the queue is relevant to what is being currently discussed on the message board and would add to the content.

In general we will post only germane material. Submission does not guarantee display.

If you send in photos of people we assume that both you and the people in the photos are happy to have them posted.

When sending messages and photos to go together on the message board:
  • Draft your message as if you were making the post yourself on the message board, and indicate clearly any part of your message which is not to appear on the board.
  • Make sure the image(s) are identified correctly and indicate where you would like them placed in your post. Count your images and check you are sending a matching number for your post -- one too many or one too few creates havoc working out what went missing.
  • Keep file names short, all lower-case, and without spaces. (Please use dashes or underscores instead of spaces if you feel it would help me and others read the file name.)
Thanks to you all who contribute so much to this website.

This website is currently dormant and not open to further submissions until further notice. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
