Kabwe (Broken Hill) Photographs
From Great North Road
There were two petrol pumps, situated at both ends of Broken Hill, where itinerants (Kit-Wee'uns etc from the North, and Lusakakan from the South) were permitted to fill their cars on their wanderings. The photo shows one of these garages. Most itinerants thought this was Broken Hill's main street.

Broadway taken from D.H. Patel's steps looking toward Holdsworth's Chemist, The Big Tree and if you look carefully' you can just make out the goods train on the far right. The picture was taken in 1964.
