Northmead School

From Great North Road

Northmead School, Lusaka 1959-1962

These photos are, as far as I know, the official class photos of my class for the years 1959 to 1962. I have not checked if anyone objects to the publication of these, as I don't recognize many of the individuals. Even if I did, I don't know how to contact most of them. For anyone who objects I apologise. If I have misspelt anyone's name I also apologise.

The year is 1959, I think that this would put us in what was standard 2. I think I can put a name to 10 faces. If I am wrong with any of my recollections please correct me. If you recognize anyone I don't, please post the information.

From the left

Middle Row, 1st, Loretta Phillips (I think), 3rd, Geraldine Jackson (I think), 7th Marilyn Carr

One year on. The same faces appearing again. I can't put a name to any of the new faces.

1961 and once again I recognise the faces but can't come up with any more names. You should recognise a number of the faces from previous years.

Now we get on to the football teams. Only two years 1959 and 1960. I haven't worked out why we had 13 players in 1959 and only 9 in 1960. Perhaps we were caught cheating in 1959 and were penalised two players in the following year. I have put the names at the bottom of the photos so I won't repeat them here.
