PWD Staff - Lusaka - Early 1960's
From Great North Road
By Bernard Vismer.
I am trying to archive and preserve memories of my father, Leonard Vismer, who worked for the PWD from 1939 until 1966.
He was originally in Fort Jameson and was posted to Broken Hill and Livingstone before going to Lusaka around 1948/9. I have a picture of some of the PWD staff in Lusaka in the early 1960's and would very much appreciate help with identifying the people. Dad is in the center of the back row wearing a bow tie.
I believe the lady on the left end of the front row is Doreen Watts (I believe her husband, Angus, worked in the PWD Mechanical Workshops). I would really like to hear from anyone who recognizes some of these faces or has memories of the PWD during Dad's years there.
Thanks
Bob Vismer
