Tiger Fishing on the Zambezi - Johnny Green
From Great North Road
As promised a few shots of fishing on the Zambezi the big brown one took a bit of reeling in and as the keep was a little to small had to be dragged ashore by hand, yes Dave very observant a Brno scope.
You note my man Friday is holding his fingers in a raised position on the boat, I had just warned him about putting his fingers down a tigers throat, but with the disdain of an old river man delved his hand in to retrieve the hook. At the time we were just a day up from Senanga and I'm sure they could have heard his screams up in Balovale which was around 500 miles to the north when the fish I am holding objected to having his tonsils tickled and latched on to the offending digits. Like the British Bulldog refused to let go until dissuaded with a sharp rap on the head with an empty Castle bottle. As you can see there was a sadder but wiser Socks (his name).
I hope there is some of my old acquaintances who were stationed in Senanga at the time and maybe the Catholic priest who after feeding us an excellent meal put the bite on us to make him a present of our boat which we did I wonder if it is still in service the year was 1973? Well my friends stay well and to dear beauteous

P.S. The bottle was that good old anti snake bite liquid called Haigh, fancy crawling through the Kalahari and having the good fortune to find it next door to all that glorious pure blue water of the Zambezi.
