Found an item for the rogues gallery. Girls in picture from left to right are Val Goodman (Mufulira), Margaret Barthorpe (Kitwe), Anne Scott (now Small) (Luanshya) and last, but not least, the famous Judy Plotz (now Witt) (N'dola). We were all obviously users of the famous "Ponds Creme".

The story is that Judy Plotz was Miss N'dola and I was Miss Luanshya in 1960. I nearly fell off my chair when I recognised her name on the GNR chat page. I remembered her because we had to make a speech at the "Broadway" in N'dola (Show time) and Judy was practicing a very posh accent which went all to hell and cockney under stress. There were about seven or eight of us all together and we had some pretty wild times for week or so. All billeted at the Savoy and having to "make appearances" at various events -- naturally all the blokes in town hanging on -- great fun. At the time the picture was taken we were on our way to Salisbury for the Miss Federation do -- billeted at the Miekles Hotel and a repeat performance of the N'dola Show. If only I had been as wise then as I am now! Even half would have been a great improvement!

I met Isaac James in Cape Town mid-December last year just after we arrived on our trip to SA and Zim. The soccer team photo is from circa 1952/3. Top photo is us two after 48 years.

Sandra McQuinn and swimming team.jpg Apparently Jack McQuinn has been trying to get this photo on your notice board. He just wanted to say something along the lines that Lusaka swimmers were better looking than anything the Copperbelt could produce. I dont want to buy into any fight about good looks, as if only you could see us now.

For the record, as best I can remember; Noel Kennedy, Roger Everest, Graham Hargreaves, Chris Snow. Front row; Susan Webster, Sandra McQuinn, Gillian Randle, sorry I cant recall name of front right. All maiden names.
