June's Narrative
My parents arrived on the Copperbelt in 1929 and I was the 4th baby born in little Nkana Mine Hospital, I grew up in the early days of Nkana, lived there for 31yrs. In 1963 my former husband John and my 4 children, all born in Nkana, emigrated to the USA, and I am still here, have had a good life and have been lucky enough to have travelled all over the world. Now retired, doing Watercolor painting, visiting Las Vegas, playing with the computer, gardening and enjoying my grand children. Would love to hear from any other old-timers, not only from Nkana but other Copperbelt towns, as there were many of us that travelled the school trains to the various boarding schools ..And anyone who may remember my parents...
