Marianne's Narrative
|
What can I say, I was one of the original N.Rhodesian's to be born in that marvellous country.
I was the child that no one wanted their children to play with!
I was sports mad played anything and everything - was quite successful in some of the sports and not so successful in others.
I lived at a time where simple things gave so much pleasure - Swimming at the local baths during my lunch hour away from the Mine Offices, Rubgy on a Sunday afternoon and the local Sundowner at the Mine Club in the evening.
Going to the Rokana Cinema etc.,
Then much later having joined the Kitwe Playing Fields - doing all the same things again.
Now I am a real Madala but I have wonderful memories to fall back on and think I was definately blessed to have lived in that country.
